History of Republic Day
15 August 1947 After independence, India brought a resolution for the appointment of a drafting committee on 29 August 1947, in which Dr. BR Ambedkar was appointed as the Chairman of drafting committee.
Its aim was to create a law in which all the citizens of the country can enjoy equal rights related to their culture, religions, caste, sex, creed and more. After that a draft constitution was prepared by the committee and presented to the Constituent Assembly on 4 November 1947.
After many deliberations and some modifications, 308 members of the Legislative Assembly signed the document on 24 January 1950 and two days later it was on 26 January 1950 It came into full effect.

26 January shows the diversity of our country and everyone celebrates it with great enthusiasm. The capital of India, New Delhi, celebrates it with a Republic Day parade that showcases the strength of the Indian Army and the cultural diversity of our country. The President host our national flag, follows it with a national anthem played by military bands with a 21-gun salute.
